Turn Off Obama TV Night! October 29, 2008

TURN OFF OBAMA-TV ON OCT. 29th

I am sharing this idea on several blogs this week where others are not supporting Obama.

For the record:
I am a PUMA in northern VA
I am a Black woman
I am a registered democrat
I am one of the voters who supported Hillary Clinton in the primary

AND I am not voting for Obama-Biden.

I am so tired of hearing about Obama spending big bucks to run his infomercial on October 29th by trying to blanket mainstream television airways.

I think we need to begin to promote a “Turn off Obama-TV” on October 29th. I say – Do NOT Listen to or Watch Obama’s 30 minute commercial on October 29, 2008. Obama thinks he can MAKE us listen to what he has to say by spending all that money in order to have his commercial on several networks at the same time. We do NOT have to listen. We do NOT have to support this gimmick.

Let’s all participate in: “Turn Off Obama-TV” that night. On October 29th for that specific 30 minutes: – Change the channel – or Turn off the television. Do not listen to any more of Obama’s hot air, false promises or his lies about McCain-Palin.

INSTEAD for that 30 minutes do something else with your brain cells — (here are a few ideas)

Watch a different tv program
Watch a DVD or video
Listen to the radio
Listen to a CD
Read a book or magazine
Play a board game
Surf the web
Watch YouTube videos
Call a friend on the phone
Play a video game
Write an email to a friend
Work on one of the word games or word puzzles in the newspaper
Play the piano (or instrument of your choice)
Do some exercising
Play a card game
Work on your family’s scrapbooks
Bake Halloween cookies or cupcakes
Work on your favorite hobby

Between now and Oct 29th – Let others know that you are choosing NOT to listen to & to NOT watch Obama’s commercial. And encourage others to join in a national response to this media effort.

Please join me by choosing to turn away from Obama’s efforts to control the outcome of this election by spending so much money on a one night media blitz.

As much as I have grown to detest the DemocRAT party, I cannot comply.

It’s very important to me to both hear what he has to say and read the transcript. Among many other things, I am searching for an answer to why I might be ‘confused’ by his reactions to some unspecified ‘international crisis’. With the lid tightly sealed on records, transcripts, etc., most of the clues to his hypocrisy, duplicity, and equivocation comes from his own mouth and vanity publications.

Since, the networks cannot detect my watching as with web hits, they gain no revenue advantage. I am already boiling, so it can’t raise the level of my ire, and it isn’t something that would bring me to tears.

However, I hold nothing against anyone refusing to tune in to the zerOne.

Guess you could say this post is speaking to the choir of PUMAs: Party Unity My Ass and the entire NObama Network. Although we have no way of knowing what lie he will tell or which principled stance he will turn on its head on October 29th, we’re well aware of all that he’s said in the past and we’ve heard enough.

He’s very skilled in his Alinsky “Rules for Radicals” techniques and knows how to “mind manipulate” his crowds. Good on him. The Messiah will speak and mothers will weep for joy. As for us? I think there must be some paint drying somewhere that will be much more thought provoking.

In the main, I agree with your points. My “hold[ing] nothing against anyone” was a feeble statement (possibly interpreted as condescending) that doesn’t express the appreciation I have for proud and loud PUMAs. Congratulations on a hard fought battle — it isn’t over until it’s over.

Before the applause from the sycophants dies down, I’ll have a half-dozen emails and phone calls stacked up. Simply put, I need the info, but I think I’ll begin correspondence and conversation with something snide, on the order of “paint drying.”

if you’re wondering why obama has so much money, look no further than george soros and his band of millionaires, wall street (fannie and freddie), hollywood, the 527’s, and mediamatters. They decided that money wasn’t enough, so they come up with a scheme to select a president by hijacking hillary’s nomination. they selected obama because he is a communist. they want to destroy america. they are the ones who destroyed the economy so people would be more apt to vote for obama. They gave him billions in contributions to pull of the takeover of america. i wonder why so many would want this kind of change.

The message you are sending is about values, not politics, set aside political party, set aside religion, race, age, and unify what and who we are, that our “VALUES” are what we are voting for, not a candidate, clearly McCain has proven our values – for the rest of it, we’ll need to make our voices heard. Today…I find issues the easiest part of all this.

I know not every one here is necessarily conservative, but if you don’t mind and you like what I say spread it around. I used it in a letter today to Senator McCain and Governor Palin.

Here we go and you have to assume we still want to be a free society.
Taxes and jobs:

Should we raise taxes on business? If I understand correctly Mr. Obama wants to raise the tax rate from 36% to 39% on small business making $250,000 and up. We will use company x as our example with 5 employees and the company grosses 1 million dollars a year. Since we are using a generic company we do not know the cost of running this business so we won’t include any cost in this exercise. At the current 36% the federal government would get $360,000 in tax revenue. Under Mr. Obama’s new rate of 39% the revenue is $390,000 and we assume that is where we get the funds to pay the tax cuts for the rest of us.

Over time will the revenue be there the government is counting on? Let us take a closer look:

The difference is $30,000 and the employer has to lay off one worker as that is close to one salary. Now that we have raised his taxes we are going to require him to pay health insurance. According to Obama the cost could be $10,000 a year per person making that another $40,000 a year. Now the company has to let another worker go! Reducing his work force by 40%!

Now that you have reduced the workforce your production is down in year two. We will assume for a moment that through hard work you only lose 30% of revenue even though you have lost 40% of workers. You now gross $700,000 a year. At 39% the tax revenue is $273,000. A whopping $117,000 less than the government had planned on! If you follow democratic patterns the taxes have to be raised on people making less than the original $250,000 to keep the revenue or even pay for other government programs. If the company revenue only dropped 20% and they made $800,000 the tax on that at 39% is $312,000.

Let us go the other way.

Let us cut the tax rate by the same 3% that Obama and others say is not much. The company now has $30,000 under current law and $60,000 more than the 39% rate. What can a company do with the money? Maybe they hire an employee rather than letting one go. Increasing the workforce by 20%. They continue working hard and grow revenue 20%-25%. The company makes $1,200,000 at a 33% tax rate the federal revenue is $396,000! If the company makes $1,250,000 at the 33% rate the federal tax revenue is $412,000. A whopping $22,000 more than the 39% rate on the original 1 million dollars!
Maybe they pay the current employees better as production has improved.

We also hired more workers instead of letting them go, keeping the unemployment rate down rather than up! We also did not even mention the fact that with more people working more people are paying taxes!
That is the reason lowering taxes on any size company helps the economy and employment rates!

If you follow each path to conclusion one builds wealth and the other destroys it. One gives everyone a fighting chance, the other relies totally on government which goes broke eventually! Now under a free society no one can make these companies do the right thing, but we must leave it up to them not government. Leave it in the hands of the people! Government is full of good intentions, but so is the road to hell! Keep us safe and stay out of the way!

Mr. Obama claims he is living proof of the American Dream and I would agree. The rest of us had better not dream too big, be too successful, or reach too high. Big brother will decide that for us now under Obama’s plan.

Big Bucks is from little people like me and like you (but not you) who spent hard earned income and often, like me, don’t have a lot to spend. Because I and others believe he is the best candidate we have had for President since John F Kennedy. And hearing him Wed night and sharing that message with others is a reward for our efforts that will hopefully lead us to the greater reward of him being elected. And finally doing something about alternative energy and so on and so forth.

Right on. Not listening to 1984 obamaspeak. Communism is taking money by force from one group of people to give to another group of people. That’s not opportunity for anybody. Leads only to division and hostility. Have found 2 reports of counties with more registered voters than eligible in county. Where is the money coming from? How ’bout Chicago mob?

What a waste of money, if Obama wants to ’spread the wealth around’, then it should start a “home”.
Instead of his “I am so great INFOMERCIAL”, he should give his money to those who truely need it.

This is so cool. I’m a registered independent (“unaffiliated” in North Carolina), for almost 10 years now. I held my nose and voted early for McCain. I didn’t know about the PUMA’s but you guys are really amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary was totally ripped off.

Why does anyone want this Marxist extremist (“from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Karl Marx, 1875), to be elected? The Democratic party has been hijacked and as an outsider observer, I don’t understand why. Hillary had far more appeal to the average voter. FAR more. Even as I watch events unfolding, I am absolutely incredulous at what I’m seeing.

The LA Times hiding a tape showing Obama hobnobbing with and toasting terrorists as late as 2003; but can you imagine if that was McCain – or Hillary?

Something ominous, and very, very sinister is going on here, and I am truly scared to death for my country. I’m in my fifties, so I’m no kid, but I’ve never felt the chill winds of tyranny blowing like they are today.

Why do you think this is happening? I would love to get your feedback because I’ve never seen anything like this.

You’re all so right… McCain is so much more convincing than Obama. It’s one thing not to care for a candidate, but the way you guys speak of Obama you would have thought he spit in your face or disrespected you personally. A “marxist” and “communist”!!! At least have the decency to have your arguments backed by facts and not fantasies. I don’t plan on voting for Obama either but you guys are just off the handle. I also beleive i detected some racial undertones – Guys we can be a little more respectful (even a little more AMERICAN) than that.

Obama did not win. Cheating is not a true victory. 20 million illegals who voted for a usurper have no “rights” to vote. This was an invalid election. 44 million voted for obama & 57 million voted for McCain. Do the math. 13 million difference Robin.
