Barack Obama Panics; Andy Martin’s Book

Internet columnist and Obama author Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Monday, July 14th to drop the first of several bombs on the Obama campaign: Obama is illegitimate and his parents were never married.

For the past four years one man has made Obama miserable: Chicago writer Andy Martin. Martin’s accurate original article is cited as the source of later rumors concerning Obama’s Islamic family roots. Martin has relentlessly and accurately investigated Barack Obama’s lies.

“Obama knew we were working the ‘illegitimate’ story, and we were preparing a series of news conferences in conjunction with my book Obama: The Man Behind The Mask,” Martin will state. “The Obama campaign also knew we were planning a lawsuit over his illegitimate birth. So they tried to use Obama’s wife to do damage control. It was one of the most cowardly gestures in American political history.

“Jesse Jackson does not have to perform surgery. Obama is a ‘girly man’ who used his wife to ooze out the truth about his lies and his parents’ lies. What kind of a commander-in-chief would the cowardly Obama be? Who would follow a leader into battle that was afraid to admit his parents were not married?

“Barack Obama, Senior, and Anne Dunham never married. Obama knows this fact. This is also why he keeps his white grandmother a virtual prisoner; she knows too, and she won’t lie.

“Through the past several decades Obama has pretended he ‘didn’t know’ the facts about his illegitimate birth. He thought he could get away with the big lie. And he almost did get away with it. But we kept digging. And we are still digging. We have more to come.

“We plan two weeks of news conferences and other Obama-related disclosures, all timed to coincide with release of my book. The book was mailed to some Washington media last Friday, and Monday afternoon it will be delivered in Midtown to Fox News, MSNBC and others. Demand for review copies has been so heavy we have already had to reorder. We expect the first truckload of Obama books to reach the warehouse early next week, depending on production schedules at the printer.

“The release of my book and attendant publicity has prompted Obama to panic. My book is the literary equivalent of a bone-jarring tackle in football, causing the ball carrier to fumble. Obama has been forced to drop the pretense his parents were married. It is time he told us the truth. His parents were never married, he knew his parents were never married; he repeatedly lied about his lack of knowledge concerning his parents’ non-marriage. He should admit that is why he keeps his white grandmother virtually imprisoned and away from any media contact. He should beg the American people for forgiveness. Otherwise, his campaign is bakacht

“If Obama had simply told the truth, the matter would probably be forgiven. But he repeatedly lies and pretends he ‘doesn’t know.’ The cover-up is always worse than the crime. Jesse knows the truth. That is why Jackson has contempt for Obama.

“I criticized Obama for running a bogus campaign ad saying he grew up with a ’strong family and strong values.’ The whole commercial was a lie. His father was a rake who never married his mother, and his mother showed abysmally poor judgment in being impregnated by a married man. Hardly a ’strong family’ and certainly not ’strong values.’ Quite the contrary. Shameful values is more like it.

“His mother was promiscuous and had a child out of wedlock, in 1961, when that was still scandalous behavior. Is this Obama’s idea of ‘family values?’ Obviously, he has been deceiving the American people and hoping his advertising lies could overcome the truth. He has failed. My book is only the first step in our organized effort to deconstruct the mirage Obama created for the Democratic Party, and is now trying to re-create for the American people. Ironically, we’re running a better and more focused campaign against Obama than John McCain is.

“We will have more to say about Obama later in the week,” Martin will state.

Bill’s Heckler Now Hillary’s Supporter

(Excerpts)

Our family urges everybody to support Hillary Clinton for president by emailing the super delegates to (request that they) cast their nominating vote for Hillary.

“We didn’t always feel that way, though. I am the Obama supporter Bill Clinton got angry at in Fayetteville, West Virginia, as seen on the YouTube video, Bill Clinton Argues With Voter (CBS News).”

“After a long wait, Bill Clinton strode onto the auditorium stage, a bright rooster for somebody his age. Pete thought that Clinton had a very strong mind, whatever the merit of his sales pitch. Not too long after Clinton began to speak, Pete walked over to the side benches to rest his feet after two hours of standing up waiting for Bill to speak. We had made up our minds on the bus ride to Charleston not to heckle, but at some point I got tired of Bill promising that Hillary would develop a car that got 100 miles to the gallon and a cure for Alzheimer’s, so I interrupted him with my objection to their bathing in the glow of health care promises that were never delivered during their time in the White House.

My getting Bill’s goat with the cameras rolling was certainly a success for Obama, for the CBS video of it got a half-million views on YouTube and 3000 comments, most of them favorable to my anti-Hillary, pro-Obama, views. Hooray! We had done something useful! But when we went back to the Obama campaign office in Charleston, excited and eager to tell them that the CBS video had been played on all the TV networks, the head Obama staffer from the national campaign office lectured us that he had more important things to do than to watch television! We thought this an odd failure on his part in not   understanding the obvious value of this fairly wide positive media exposure for Obama. The asshole, pompous in his position as a paid Obama staffer, took this ridiculous attitude even though what we did received write-ups in the New York Times, Washington Post and all the major newspapers and blogs, including five minutes on Rush Limbaugh.

We made Bill Clinton look bad in getting angry at a fair question, so it was generally reported.  All of these idiot staffers who did not respect its reach and generally positive impact had to still be in the crib wearing diapers. When one staffer named David Zhou actually grabbed my husband, who is 65 years old, to push him out of the office, Pete was enraged enough to tell him, “If you don’t get your hands off me, asshole, I’ll knock your fucking teeth in.” Something has to be wrong here, we both said simultaneously in utter disbelief as we left the office.

What was wrong was not that hard to understand if you’ve lived a long enough life. These were children, young people whose self-confidence still came mostly from mother love. That relatively kind interpretation of the Obama kids held a clue for what Barack Obama was all about, for the attitude of a campaign staff had to be, we felt, a reflection of their candidate. We were beginning to have our doubts about Barack.”

Obama Bullying Hillary Out of Convention?

With The Spirit of Seneca Falls Under Our Wings

With The Spirit of Seneca Falls Under Our Wings

Excerpt:

Sue Castner of Portland is a longtime Clintonite who was a big fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton and will be one of her delegates at the Democratic National Convention. Nobody was more loyal. Days before Clinton dropped out of the race, Castner told me: “If it comes down to a [convention] floor fight, I grew up in New Jersey. I’ve got brass knuckles. I am not remotely afraid of a floor fight.”

Castner is still coming to terms with the reality of Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee, judging by an e-mail of hers (see it after the jump) that is making the rounds. Castner was in a group of Clinton supporters who met with Obama and Clinton on June 26 in D.C. – and she wasn’t too happy with how it went.

Ms. Castner’s email:
First, let me apologize for not getting back to many of you sooner. I’ve been traveling off and on since being elected as a Clinton delegate at the 1st CD on June 7th. I wish I could answer every question individually. Please understand that the situation has been a dynamic, fluid one making it virtually impossible to keep everyone in a specific loop. That said…
Two Thursday’s ago, June 26th, I attended a meeting in Washington, D.C. with Senators Clinton and Obama. Incorrectly labeled a “fundraiser” by the press, it was supposed to be a small gathering of Hillary’s national finance committee and while there were a few in attendance to write checks to the Obama campaign that night, many did not.
Prior to this gathering, I had had several discussions and meetings with many staunch Obama supporters. These friends have all been exceptionally gracious in reaching out and have been willing to listen to the concerns brought forth. Many have eagerly awaited welcoming HRC supporters on board. So I was genuinely looking forward to the evening in Washington with an open mind, if not an open checkbook. Having already met Senator Obama in Scottsdale several years ago, I was truly hoping to see what my friends had related to me in oh-so many ways. I was hoping to be wowed, not wooed. I wanted to hear something that would bring me totally on board with the many friends and fellow Oregon delegates who support Senator Obama.
The first question during the very brief Q&A period dealt with a persistent rumor about Hillary’s name NOT being on the first ballot in Denver. As a Clinton delegate, I am looking forward to representing the people who voted for me at the 1st CD convention and the 259,000 Oregonians who voted for Hillary in May. I also feel a level of responsibility to the 18 million voters who must be respected, heard, and no longer invisible. Hillary has expressed this sentiment so much more eloquently than I ever could. So I, along with others on Hillary’s finance committee who are elected delegates, wanted to hear that there would be an open convention in which Hillary Clinton’s name is placed into nomination and delegate votes are registered by roll call — as has been the procedure at Democratic conventions throughout modern history.
The people I have been in the trenches with for the last 18 months all feel that Hillary’s achievements as the first woman to present a serious challenge must be recorded for history – especially since convention week includes the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage. Imagine attending THE convention that celebrates the phenomenal achievements of generations of women in politics! What would be a better way to join splintered Democratic constituencies into a winning alliance? After all, if the sensible shoe were on the other foot, would anyone in his or her right mind even think of suggesting that Senator Obama’s name not be placed in nomination? Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Joe Biden, Jerry Brown, Paul Tsongas (among others) have ALL had their names placed in nomination with far fewer than 1,896 delegates.
My friend who begged the question in DC explained that if we, on the finance committee, were expected to put our time, energy, effort, and rolodexes into getting Senator Obama elected, we wanted some assurance that we would be able to vote for Hillary in Denver.
We all thought it was a reasonably benign question with a relatively simple answer. I was absolutely stunned when Senator Obama replied that that there were many issues that needed to be “negotiated” and we would not have a “negotiating session” that night. He did attempt to placate us by saying that Hillary would be “front and center” at the convention. He also told the woman who asked the question that he DID want her rolodex. Answers to other questions about the blatant misogyny and reducing Hillary’s campaign debt were no more satisfying.
My deep disappointment in the entire process and the outcome is not likely to dissipate yet I remain hopeful. Everyone needs to do what he or she is comfortable doing between now and November. And EVERY decision deserves respect. I have yet to decide whether I will write a check to Senator Obama’s campaign. And I am not asking you to contribute at this time – I cannot in good conscience make this request of anyone until Senator Obama commits to allowing a first ballot roll call vote. So for right now, I am focused on making sure that elected Hillary delegates and super-delegates CAN vote for her in Denver.
Another important endeavor for which I will ask assistance is reducing Hillary’s campaign debt to vendors. She is not asking anyone to help pay back the money that she personally loaned to the campaign, which she regards as her own investment. If you haven’t already maxed out to Hillary, please contribute whatever you can (all amounts large and small are welcome):
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/contribute/jsc44
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on all of this. To that end, I will be having a gathering at my house this Saturday, July 12 starting at 2 PM. I simply ask that this NOT be a “bitch” session. I am hoping that any Obama supporters and/or campaign staff and/or other members of the DPO feel free to attend as well. I know that there is a SCC meeting in Tualatin ending at 2 PM next Saturday and attendees are welcome to join us. As with all of the gatherings at my place, I’m sure it’ll go late into the evening. Please RSVP if you can.
I thank you for your continued support.
As always – Sue Castner

According to Will Bower, Hillary’s debt has been greatly reduced without Obama’s help. PUMAs efforts are releasing her from the DNC/Obama stranglehold. Please consider contributing another $5.44 each so Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton can go into the convention STRENGTHENED BY PUMA POWER.

Barack Obama The New Nixon

Richard Nixon observed that a Republican seeking the presidency needed to run to the right in order to capture the GOP nomination, then run quickly to the political center in order to grab the brass ring in November.

Nixon’s MO has drawn scorn from purists, who detest chameleon like flip-flops on the part of politicians. “Whatever happened to political leaders standing on principle, instead of switching positions just to win votes?” they ask.

The answer lies in practicality. Barry Goldwater stood on principle in 1964, declaring he’d “rather be right than president.” The Arizona senator lost to Lyndon Johnson in one of the biggest landslides in American history, demonstrating that ideological purity can be a liability in a nation that values pragmatism.

This year, the Republican’s presumptive nominee tossed away the Nixon playbook. John McCain paid respect to his party’s right wing during the primary season, but he didn’t kowtow to it when seeking the nomination. Neither did Charlie Crist two years ago when he sought the Republican nomination for Florida governor.

Crist correctly sensed a sea change taking place in GOP politics in the aftermath of the Terri Schiavo debacle. The party’s far right had gone too far in its effort to interfere with an end of life decision, and a backlash was inevitable. Even many religious people were appalled and frightened by the GOP extremism.

McCain campaigned in Florida as a centrist, and support from the popular Crist put him over the top in the Sunshine State. The momentum from the Florida victory propelled McCain to the other primary victories he needed to secure the nomination.

At the moment, the far right’s support for McCain is tepid at best, but he and Crist are putting a new brand on the Republican Party by adding a healthy dose of reform politics reminiscent of Theodore Roosevelt. If McCain wins in November, with or without Crist as his running mate, it will be due to his willingness to keep the far right at arms length and seek the political center.

The question is, how will Barack Obama respond now that he has the nomination in his hip pocket? At the moment, it looks like he’s following Richard Nixon’s advice, though on the other end of the spectrum. To win the Democratic nomination, Obama ran to the left, bowing to the MoveOn.org crowd, the industrial and teachers unions, the trial lawyers, environmentalists and the ACLU. With the nomination in hand, however, he’s been heading toward the center.

He’s switched position on a measure that would extend legal immunity to telecom companies that helped the government listen in on overseas phone calls in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. His support for the legislation has civil libertarians and the trial lawyers who stood to make millions through lawsuits tearing out their hair, but most Americans would approve of the actions of the phone companies at a time of grave national peril.

Obama approved of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the Second Amendment right to bear arms. He also disapproved of a high court decision striking down the death penalty in the case of the rape of a child. His comments put him foursquare in the camp of Justices Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and Alito, to the horror of the far left.

The presumptive Democratic nominee sounded a lot like George W. Bush recently in supporting federal funding of faith-based programs.

As for Iraq, Obama has modified his call for the withdrawal of U.S. forces within 16 months of his taking office. He now says he may change his timetable for withdrawal, depending on the advice of commanders in the field. Given the improving military and political situation in Iraq since the surge, that makes sense, but it appalls the far left, which has demanded rapid withdrawal.

What next? Will Obama change his protectionist rhetoric and endorse the pending trade pact with Colombia? Will he alter his income tax and payroll tax increase proposals that, along with state income taxes, would give this country some of the highest marginal tax rates in the world?

The post-primary Obama is making the far left uncomfortable. But he knows that if he’s to win Florida and other centrist states, he’s going to have to start sounding more like Bill Clinton and less like Ted Kennedy.

Democrats Don’t Care About You

Public Service Announcement: You don’t need political analysts; just read the news. Singular lines of news suffice at times. You are now in the post-analytic age. Here is a one-liner from a Yahoo! News piece on the recent passage of the Snoops-R-Us bill in the Senate: “Obama ended up voting for the final bill, as did Specter.”

That one sentence tells you all you need to know about where Obama and most Democrats stand on the issue of civil liberties and what political leaders are not willing to do to protect those liberties. Now, that should be enough to make you withdraw your support from Obama’s presidency — if, that is, you still have illusions about the Democrats in general, and Barak Obama in this round of Anybody-But-Bush/McCain.

“What?” says you, “And let McCain win the election?”

To that it must be said: What on earth is the difference when the Democratic presidential nominee, during the election campaign, votes in the same way as a right-wing Republican not just on any bill, but on a bill curtailing people’s civil liberties?

Of course, Obama, being a smooth political operator, made a mountain out of his molehill of an ‘opposition’ to the bill, by supporting an amendment to the bill that would have removed the telecom’s immunity, but when the amendment failed, he simply dropped the ball on the whole thing and plainly didn’t care enough to vote No (only symbolically mind you, since its passage was assured tremendously by the rest of the Democratic corporate lackeys masquerading as people’s representatives).

This, in an election year, is highly telling, if not plain astonishing. It is customary for Democratic politicians to pull symbolically left-leaning gestures during the presidential campaign seasons, to prove this or that credential with this or that constituency that has real and therefore left-leaning needs. So, one would have expected Obama to move slightly to the left of the right end of the political spectrum, if only for just a quick photo op.

As the presumptive nominee, he could have rallied all the Democrats into a cohesive voting block to stop this further erosion of people’s civil liberties; he would have raised his political capital by millions. One would have expected fiery speeches in support of a change from the totalitarian path set by the Bush administration to a situation where people’s rights were restored, secured and hopefully expanded. Instead, this Democratic candidate has been proving his right-wing credentials one after another.

First, he made it clear he’s all for the intensification of the Afghan war; he has announced an indefinite open season on Pakistani soil and airspace; he has announced he will uphold Israel’s strategic supremacy in the Middle East (read, barbaric oppression of Palestinians, and indefinite bullying rights against Arab neighbors); now he has shown that he will go along with governmental infinite access to all households in the U.S. Obama does not defend the constitution, and he is a constitutional lawyer?

If Obama cannot even make a show or a pretense of a defense of people’s rights when he is not the president, I for one am vastly fearful of what he is capable of doing when/if he is the president!

Here is a classic, textbook case of a man simply and purely hungry for power and willing to do anything to get to it; a man who is beholden to the same exact lobbies that control the Republicans, the Congress and the Executive branch and a man who does not shy away from curtailing, in broad daylight, people’s rights and safety from arbitrary government search and seizure.

What more proof does anybody need to conclude that Obama is just as bad and harmful for the well being of the Americans (and others) as is McCain or Bush? Your vote for one or the other makes no difference. Voting for either is the same as throwing your voting ballot in the toilet. Political hacks that throw away people’s rights and their protections against arbitrary governance do not deserve to be elected at all.

If you want real change and you think voting can bring some change, then know this: the only difference you can make by voting is casting a protest vote. Tell the establishment they don’t represent you in a written, documented form.

Write in your own name on the ballot; better, write in your grandmother’s name. Stop handing blank checks to a government that is so plainly bent on screwing you. Stop being slaves. At least spit back in their face. Don’t waste your vote, don’t waste the only political force you can legally exercise, and don’t waste your voice; vote for Nader, vote for McKinney, for anybody but the establishment boys.

Obama Not Refining Iraq Plan Yet (Karl)

Barack Obama has an op-ed in today’s New York Times, titled “My Plan for Iraq.”

It is an odd title, considering that Obama uses the space to write about almost everything except about his plan for Iraq.

Rather, Obama reminds us that he opposed the war in Iraq before it began, ignoring that his stated objections at the time were vacuous and not borne out by subsequent events.  He claims that nearly every threat we face has grown — though many not associated with the VRWC would disagree.  Indeed, Obama notes himself that al Qaeda has weakened in Iraq.

Obama then claims that “the same factors that led me to oppose the surge still hold true,” but the factors he cites now are not those he cited at the time, when he wrongly predicted the surge would fail.  He also derides Iraqi progress on political reconciliation, though the Sunnis in Iraq seem to be pretty pleased with that progress to date.  It’s a little odd that Obama seems keen to get chatty with the Islamic theocracy of Iran, while insulting our allies in Iraq.

He also seems willfully blind to the distinction between being able to withdraw on a timetable based on progress in Iraq, rather than to declare defeat and decamp, which has been his position until recently.

Obama finally gets around to his plan for Iraq, claiming: “We can safely redeploy our combat brigades at a pace that would remove them in 16 months.”  The US military seems to disagree, and will likely tell him so when he visits Iraq.

The remainder of Obama’s op-ed addresses his desire to send at least two additional combat brigades to support our effort in Afghanistan.  We could use more troops there, though someone might want to ask Obama why he, as a multi-lateralist, is not joining the calls for more equal participation from our supposed allies.

In short, out of the entire op-ed, we learn that Obama’s plan for Iraq remains to pull out faster than the US military thinks it can be done as a matter of logistics, let alone prudence.  And that he will “refine” his policy in whatever ad hoc manner suits the moment.
